Just a Typical (Chaotic) Weekend

I went to bed Sunday night with a big smile on my face and I told Dean "I'm happy." He looked at me like I was a wierdo (a look I am used to) and I explained that I just felt full and blessed and lucky in love and life and just very, very happy. I also felt tired, very, very tired. Here's why:
Friday night: Dean had a Pacers game so the boys and I watched a movie and just hung out...I think, I honestly don't remember what exactly we did because the rest of the weekend was such a whirlwind.
Saturday: We headed to the soccer field at 9 a.m. to watch Benny and his teamates on The Crew (coached by Dean) as they played their last game of the season. They lost but Ben scored a goal! We were pumped. Oma gave Ben one of her famous whistles to celebrate!
After soccer we went home where we cheered on the crew who were installing our new fence. We all then headed to the basketball court at noon where Joey and I assumed our usual position on the sidelines cheering Ben (again coached by Dean) and his Pacers teamates at their first practice of the season. Ben recruited several of his best buddies to be on his basketball team so practice was a blast. We grabbed lunch on our way home and Ben ended up going to his friend Kevin's house. You would think the boys would have had enough of each other since they were on the same soccer and basketball team and had, therefore, already spent the majority of the day together but no. Ben was in heaven as Kevin has two older brothers and it sounds like the boys spent the afternoon wrestling, playing basketball, and playing soccer.
Dean and Joe worked on moving the dirt that was left behind from the fence posts holes and I did some work inside the house. We then left the house at 4 p.m., picked up Ben and surprised the boys with a trip to the Zoo for Zoo Boo! It was Pacers day at the zoo so we not only got to enjoy our favorite animals and a little trick or treating but we also got to see Paul George and Jeff Foster.
Mom, Dad, and Mal came over Saturday night for pizza and we all hit the sack early.
Sunday: Dean and I taught Sunday School to the high schoolers at 9:30 a.m. while Ben and Joe attended their Sunday School classes and then Dean and I attended the 10:30 service where Dean served as Deacon. We then had about 15 minutes to feed the boys, change clothes, and Ben, Joey and I headed back to church to pick up some of the youth group kids and head to the CROP walk. It was a beautiful day for a walk around Butler's campus and the boys did a great job. Ben walked the entire 3.2 miles with minimal whining (though he did say his feet were going to fall off at one point) and Joey happily rode in his car and made people laugh when he fell asleep and looked like a human bobble head. Dean stayed home and worked in the yard while we were on our walk. Ben had choir practice immediately following the walk and once he was home at 5 p.m. we were all exhausted and played outside for a short while, grabbed some leftovers for dinner, and were all in bed early again ready for a great week. Joe, by the way, is in heaven with all the dirt piles to be moved. So there you have it; an exhausting but thoroughly enjoyable weekend spent with my favorite guys. I love my life.

Let Joe know Sissy and Uncle Clint could use his help with our yard work! :) He is so sweet!
