Joe enjoyed playing in the kiddie area but really wanted to be with Ben in the "big kid" pools. However, in order to be with Ben, Joey had to wear a life vest. He refused to do this. Absolutely refused. My stubborn little boy chose to sit in a chair and watch Ben play rather than abide by the rules and put on a life jacket. He wasn't being a brat, didn't pout at all really. Just sat. And watched. Such a stubborn little beast.
After a couple of hours at the pool we decided to head up to our room to relax for a bit. Following "quiet time" we headed to the arcade for a bit and enjoyed a pizza dinner. Dean surprised us with a trip to a place near our hotel for some laser tag following dinner. Dean was the only one of us who had ever played laser tag and let me tell you, we had a blast. It was seriously one of the most fun things we have ever done as a family. We all loved it and ran through the course laughing hysterically. Joey did awesome and perhaps enjoyed it most of all! There was just our family and another family there and we ended up really enjoying spending time with them and even met up with them later that night at the pool!
Back to the hotel after laser tag, after a scary ride in the snow back up the huge hill to our hotel (thank God for 4-wheel drive), we changed into our suits again and headed back down to the pool. This time my stubborn boy relented and donned a life vest so he could happily participate in all that the water park had to offer.
The boys were sufficiently exhausted after our full day and we all slept well that night. We had breakfast at the hotel before heading back to the water park one last time. We had almost the entire place to ourselves and the boys had huge smiles the entire time. I even convinced Benny to go down one of the big water slides with me. We both loved it! Joe Bug was not amused that he wasn't tall enough to join us.
An uneventful trip home resulted in our being reunited with our sweet puppy girl, who we missed! It was a wonderful getaway and the boys can't wait to go again soon.
