And Baby Makes Four

Yes, you read the title right, Ben is going to be a big brother! We are due November 29, which makes us about 12 weeks pregnant. We are so excited, but perhaps no one more so than sweet Mr. Benjamin. He is SO excited. In fact, we had to tell him that the baby was going to be brought by Santa Claus when it is cold outside and ready to snow again! This is the only way we could express time to him! It seemed to work, though, as he stopped asking me several times a day "Is my baby sister ready to come play with me? When can I hold her?" Ben is convinced one day that he wants a baby sister and the next that he wants a baby brother. I think it is good that he is undecided, as Dean and I are secret people and we don't like to find out the sex of our babies so everyone will be in the dark with us until the little one arrives. I have been experiencing the morning/afternoon/evening sickness again with this pregnancy, though I don't think it is quite as intense as it was with Ben. The thing that has been really hard for me is the fatigue that accompanies pregnancy...and motherhood in general now that I think about it! I forgot how exhausted you are in your first trimester and my sleepy woes are only exacerbated by the fact that I spend my days playing with a (almost) 3-year-old! While Ben is very excited about the baby, he is not very sympathetic towards his tired, barfing mommy! I have now brushed his teeth and held him while vomiting and had him lay on me prying my eyes open saying "please don't go to sleep mommy" while I tried to "rest my eyes" while watching an afternoon movie. I'm a mulitasker! Did I mention that Ben has also chosen this time to try to give up his afternoon nap! Fun stuff. Good timing bud. We are working on "quiet time" and he does a pretty good job for about an hour, but I do miss his 2 hour naps, when I could work for an hour and a half and then rest for 30 minutes before Tornado Ben rolled through town again! Anyway. Just wanted to share our news. We are so blessed to have this opportunity to grow our family and can't wait for Thanksgiving this year when we will have yet another thing to be thankful for!
