State Fair Trip

I love the State Fair. We try to make it to the Fair at least once a year and with the amazingly perfect weather we have been having in Indiana this past week, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to head to the Fair on Thursday afternoon. Of course my sister joined us. She just can't stay away...I think she is glutton for punishment!!
A little known fact about me is that I can't read a map...not something I am proud of, but a fact nonetheless. In all truthfullness, I really probably could read a map, but am way too impatient to be bothered. I was SO excited to be at the Fair that I ignored the handy map they distribute in the parking lot and just headed full steam ahead through the first entrance I found. Unfortunately for Benjamin the entrance and subsequent direction I chose entailed us walking completely around the entire fairground before arriving at the destination we wanted to most see---the Young Hands on the Farm exhibit (see my post from August 2007 for our first experience).
Ben was exhausted by the time we finally arrived to the mock farm, "my feet are broken, mom!" It was just as fun to watch him be a farmer again this year, maybe even more so because he is so big and has an awesome imagination. He took his job very seriously and for the 20 minutes we were there he WAS "Farmer Ben." Joey seemed confused by the whole thing but was his normal agreeable self.
After leaving the farm we made the 2 mile (give or take) trek back to the other side of the fairgrounds, stopping along they way to feed some sheep, check out the cows, and people watch.
Ben was pooped from all the walking so Sissy and I took turns carrying him and we grabbed a milkshake from the Dairy Barn (best in the WORLD) on our way out and headed home.
Oh sweet fair...I hope to see you again soon.
