Sneaking fun in where we can

I am fully immersed in the crazy, out of control, insane, no fun, way too busy time of year for my job. My event is three weeks from Monday and I am SO ready for it to be over with. Everything is going well so far (knock on wood), but as I have said before, I am not at my best this time of year. I neglect the people I love and am so lucky my friends and family are so patient with me. I am really lucky my boys are so sweet and agreeable (most of the time) and at the end of the day, no matter how tired and frustrated we all may be, we still have a kiss and hug for one another and pray that God will let us do it all again the next day.
Despite the chaos, we have managed to squeeze in some fun play dates and some good family time. Last week we went to an Indians game (Joey's first time at Victory Field). We had a great time, despite the fact that Benjamin had a major case of the gimmies and drove us nuts constantly asking for things...anything...hot dog, pop, popcorn, chips, ice cream, ice cream, ice cream....he was annoying but we had a good time nonetheless. My stinkin camera batteries died after only 2 pictures so I can't share any visual evidence of our good time!
The next day the boys and I met Ang and Adam and Taylor at the Broad Ripple Splash Park. What a beautiful day and an awesome little park. Joe was mesmerized and absolutely had a blast. Ben thought the water was too cold but he seemed to enjoy himself...for at least a little while. He was ready to go about an hour before we finally packed up, but he hung in there as best he could. Unfortunatley I had not yet replaced those camera batteries so no pictures of that play date :(
Thursday Dean took the day off work and we took the boys to the park and Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Abby joined us and we all had a blast watching Ben sprint through the jungle gym and Joe Bug climb up and slide down the tunnel slide over and over and over again. We did have a brief moment of drama when Joe-Joe got stung by a sweat bee or something (it had a HUGE stinger when I pulled it off his cheek). But he quickly rallied after going to visit the ducks and checking out the cool fountain in the pond.
That afternoon our sweet Brookie B and Aunt Sissy came for a visit. We all LOVED having our girl hang out and I even grabbed a quick nap with her! I had almost forgotten how incredible it was to nap with a newborn.
The best part of the visit though was watching Joey interact with Brooke. He definitely loves her very much and squats down to smile at her and give her kisses...however, he wasn't too sure he liked having his mommy snuggle with his cousin. Everytime he saw me holding her he would come over and "pick her up and carry" her back to Michelle! Jealous anyone?!

HA...I don't think Brookie likes getting taken away from her Aunt Mel!!! :)

Am I the only one that notices the way Joe is looking at Ben in the picture taken at Victory Field. His "What the #$*@ is your problem?" look ... Classic and I love it.

now that you mention it, craig...that is pretty much the look Joe constantly gives Ben, usually before hitting him upside the head with whatever toy or sippy cup is handy at the time.
