Big Ben

Benny is surpassing all of our academic expectations as he thrives in kindergarten. He is doing an excellent job with reading, writing, and math. He says that he still has a hard time remembering to raise his hand and be quiet when the teacher is talking, but he must be doing better as we have not heard from his teacher about this being a problem in a long time!
Ben is a social butterfly and has a ton of friends. He cannot stand to be by himself and is constantly asking to have a friend over. We are lucky that one of his classmates lives next door and several other friends are within walking distance so there is not usually a shortage of company.
Ben continues to love sports. He just wrapped up his basketball season and started baseball practice last week. He is on the Reds with several friends so he is pretty pumped. His best friend, Nathan, is not on his team, which was dissapointing but the boys are looking forward to some epic battles on the field! Soccer starts soon as well so we will all be spending a lot of time on the playing field this spring. Ben is very smart, outgoing, and funny...but his attitude could use some work. In Ben's opinion, his is the only opinion that counts and so if things are not going his way, then Ben is pouting and one unhappy camper. Ben is most definitely not a "go with the flow" kind of kid. He likes to know what is coming next and still has a hard time living in the moment. He drives me nuts!
Ben loves to play video games (when he is not dribbling, kicking, shooting, or throwing a ball). He also loves going to Healthplex with his dad on the weekends to work out and shoot hoops. He is a big fan of showing off his muscles :)Ben torments his little brother but definitely loves Joe very much and is very protective of him.
Ben is definitely Daddy's Boy. He loves his dad soooo much. Ben and I are way too similar and, consequently, get on each other's nerves! But I hope he knows how much I love him and am proud to be his mom. He is a fun, silly, smart, and sassy boy and we love him more than anything.
