When I am old and gray and think back to the summer of 2012, there is one picture that I hope immediately comes to mind...Joe and his goggles. When he would put on his bright green (or blue, black or clear) goggles he would look like a little crazy person and I think he, in a way, actually became a different person. It was like his summer costume that would transform him from ordinary Joe to SUPER JOE. No one was immune to the powers that Joe had with his goggles on. You couldn't help but smile and probably giggle when you saw him with his trunks hiked up on one side (he has good, strong thighs!) and his goggles on with a maniacal grin asking that you "watch this" while he performed some crazy slide, dive, jump, twist or equally compelling feat in, under, and over the water. You couldn't help but be sucked into the fun little world that Joe created whenever he wore his goggles. Thank you, green goggles, for giving me a summer full of memories.
