I realize how rapidly my time for Joe and Mommy "fun days" is dwindling. One more year and then he will be heading off to big school. Boo. I am renewing the committment I first made to Ben 7 years ago when I quit my full time job to have at least one special fun outing a week. It is so nice to be able to spend special time one-on-one with my boys and Joe and I are going to enjoy some fun this year.
Fun Days kicked off last week with a trip to the Zoo and we grabbed Joey's best friends, Macy and Drew, to join us for the fun. And boy did we have fun. It was a terrific day. We had beautiful weather, small crowds and the kids were able to see every area of the zoo, some twice! We had a picnic lunch and even got to see the dolphin show and play on the playground for a bit. In total we spent about 3 hours together exploring and I know I will never forget watching these 3 little people whom I love so much enjoying each other's company....while they squealed with delight, especially when they caught animals going to the bathroom. That was the highlight of the trip for them!!
