Vacation Preview
We are having a blast right now on our vacation in Cape Coral, Florida. We rented a house with a pool and hot tub and my parents, and Dean's mom joined Ben, Dean, and I for the week. We got down here on Sunday and have had so much fun swimming and exploring. Some highlights for Ben have included walking down to the dock to look at boats and throw rocks in the water, chasing little lizards (geckos?), playing at the park at Ft. Meyer's Beach, going out to breakfast with Nana and Bampaw all by himself, collecting shells for Nana, taking a nap with Bampaw or Oma each day, and jumping into the pool. He is doing a great job swimming and is beginning to get the concept of treading water...granted he has his lifevest on, but still, he is quite comfortable and is becoming a little fish.
We are going to Sanibel Island today to look for more shells and hang out on the beach. I love Sanibel so we are really looking forward to the day. We come home tomorrow night, so I imagine we will just hang out at our pool tomorrow and prepare for the flight home. Ben likes to fly and did a great job coming down...he didn't sleep at all, which surprised me, but he had a good time nonetheless and liked looking out the window at the clouds. Hopefully the flight home will be just as smooth.
The only bad thing this week has been Benny's cough. He was diagnosed with bronchitis right before we left for Florida and is on an antibiotic and prescription cough medicine, but he just seems to be getting worse. I guess you have to just let it run it's course, but it's not easy, as all you moms can attest to, to watch your sweet baby "suffer." He seems to be fine during the day, but is really struggling at night with coughing..hence is why I am posting at 6:30 a.m. We have not been getting much sleep since Ben is sharing the master suite with Dean and I and I finally gave up this morning and decided to get up!
I have taken a ton of pictures and will definitely post some when we get home. Say a prayer, please, for Ben to feel better.
