What's in a name?

We have enjoyed playing a new game in our house. It's called "what shall we name the baby?" Every day I ask Benny what our baby's name should be and he, without pause, says the first name that comes to his mind. The names are usually pretty cute. We've had Judy several times, Allison, Max, Luke, Ava, Maddy...all appropriate and sweet. Occasionally he will make something nonsense up. This morning he contemplated my question of what we should name the baby and then said very seriously "Judy Fireman Stinks." I repeated it to make sure I had heard him correctly and upon determining that I had, he said "do you like it mommy?" It is a definite contender, though I do think Judy Fireman Stinks might be challenging for a kindergartner to learn to write! Stinks is one of Ben's new favorite words. The other day he was lying on the couch with me trying (and evidently failing) to get comfortable when I said "hey, are you lying on my belly?" To which Ben replied rather hatefully "I don't LIKE your big belly. I think it stinks!" I laughed and told him that we loved my belly because it had our baby inside. He disagreed! Evidently baby is infringing on Ben's ability to comfortably lounge across his mommy's lap. Not ok! My final funny Benny story for the night...I discovered quite by accident the other night that Ben has a hidden talent. He can answer the telephone! I was downstairs rotating laundry when my dad evidently called. I heard Ben calling me so I came upstairs and he handed me the phone and said "Bampaw is on the phone." Evidently the phone range, Ben picked it up and said "Hello!" My dad was surprised but said "Hi Benny!" Ben replied, "Who's name is this?" How funny is that! He is such a big boy! He then told my dad that I was downstairs but he would go get me. And he did! Clever boy!
