Busiest. Weekend. Ever.

We had a great, but insanely packed weekend. I really don't think it would be humanly possible to have squeezed anymore activities into the past two days! The weekend began bright and early Saturday morning. Dean and Ben headed to the soccer field for team pictures. Joey and I took off for the grocery store to pick up some last minute items for Michelle's baby shower. After soccer pictures Dean and Ben headed to the gym for a basketball game. Dean coaches Ben's YMCA basketball team. Joey and I spent the morning at Nana's house preparing for the shower. Guests began arriving at about 9:30 a.m. and the shower officially was under way at 10:00 a.m. Dean and Ben arrived shortly thereafter to pick up Joe (Ben said the game went great and he scored a couple of baskets).
The shower went really well. Michelle received tons of gifts and it was awesome to see so many friends and family members we haven't seen in awhile.
I got home from the shower at about 1:15 p.m. and literally waved to Dean as he ran Ben to the car to take him to a birthday party. I packed the boys bags and got myself packed up while Dean was gone and then we headed to Nana and Bampaw's to drop Joe off; the boys were spending the night at their house while Dean and I attended a wedding in Lafayette. We dropped Joe off at about 2:30 p.m. and headed to Lafayette. (Mom meanwhile went to pick up Ben from the birthday party).
Dean and I checked into our hotel at about 3:40 p.m. and quickly changed our clothes and headed to the church at 4:00 p.m. The rest of the evening was fun and uneventful. We had a great time at the reception with friends from "the lake" and enjoyed some late night steakburgers. All was well...at least on our end. We later found out that Joey was awake from about 2-5 a.m. crying! Yikes! Poor mom and dad.
The next morning we packed up at about 8:30 a.m. and headed home. We picked the boys up at 9:30 a.m. I ran to the grocery store for my mom and Joey took a quick nap before we headed back to mom and dad's at noon for Mallory's birthday party. We celebrated her 23rd birthday with, lunch, some cake, and of course gifts!
After Mal's party we stopped by Oma's for a quick visit before heading home for another nap for Joey. Ben had choir at 4:00 p.m. and I had church youth group at 5:00 p.m. Ahhh. I am tired after just writing about our escapades the past 48 hours. But don't feel too bad for us...we leave for vacation later this week. Sunshine and lazy (schedule-free) days await us. The countdown is on!
