Day Tu
It seems as though all my funny stories are about Ben these days. Well today Joey provided some comic relief. We were at the CVS drive-thru picking up a prescription (I have a sinus infection and bronchitis...don't even get me started. We are the sickest family on the planet). The pharmacist kindly offered the boys suckers. I handed them back and Joe said "day tu." (his version of thank you!). I then asked Joey to hand me his sucker so I could take the wrapper off for him. He tightened his grip and shook his head saying "day tu." I said "come on Joe-Joe, give mommy the sucker so I can open it for you." His "day tu" became paniced and he kept repeating it and whimpering "day tu day tu day tu." It was like he was saying "I said thank you lady now leave me and my sucker in peace." I finally wrenched the sucker out of his grasp and he started crying hysterically. I took off the wrapper and handed it back to him and said "there you go. Try putting it in your mouth now." He tentatively put it in his mouth, smiled and said "oh. day tu!"
