I really love this time of year. The scenery is beautiful as the leaves change color, the air is cool, the sun is warm, and there are so many fun activities to participate in in the month of October. Last week the boys and I painted pumpkins. Joey LOVED expressing his creativity!

Ben is an old pro at pumpkin painting and created many a masterpiece by painting his pumpkin orange after each art attempt so he would have a clean slate to create again! Pretty clever, and also really wasteful of the paint, but oh well.
Joey wasn't ready to pack up the paints after the pumpkins were complete so another adventure was had as he discovered the joys of fingerpainting for the first time. He made an unbelievably huge mess but the smile on his face made the clean up worthwhile. He had a blast and was so stinking cute!
Kirin's birthday party was last week as well. She had a Halloween theme and Angela went all out with awesome spooky decor, games, and treats. My little Buzz Lightyear and Race Car Driver had the best time.

And here is Joey post Buzz Lightyear...it was a really cold day so he had to bundle up to play games outside and Amber was kind enough to let him borrow her Dora hat!

And it is a good thing we had so much fun at the Halloween Party because today is Halloween and there will (sadly) be no trick or treating by the Heaviland boys. BOOOOOO! I really think I am the most dissapointed person in my house about this turn of events. Both boys are sick and Ben has been running a fever the past 3 days of as high as 104 degrees at times. Joey has only had a low-grade temp but was up all night Wednesday night vomiting. Good times! Benny was diagnosed with a sinus infection and is on antibiotics, but I am not so sure the dreaded H1N1 hasn't infiltrated our house. GET OUT!
The ONLY good thing I can say about the germs that have kept us house bound (and kept me on the verge of insanity) the past couple days is that I have gotten in a ton of snuggle time with my monkeys. They have been so cute and cuddly...but unfortunately miserable, on fire hot, and had random fluids oozing out of EVERY orifice of their body as well. Again, good times. They have spent many an hour watching movies on the couch together.

Joey has mustered the energy to play with his train table...his newest obsession is thomas the train. I should probably dedicate an entire blog to this new found love. Joey doesn't quite get the idea of the train table, but he sure does enjoy himself.

So that is what we have been up to the past week and a half. I will close with a cute, albeit random, picture of Uncle Craig and the boys. Ben and Joe absolutely adore Craig (or Mal Mal as Joey calls him??).
Happy Halloween!
