Honestly, I am not exactly sure where the past 3 weeks have gone. I think I blinked and now here we are knocking on the door to April. April! Seriously, time is going by way too fast these days. Though admittedly there are some days that I would speed up if I could...life with a 2-year-old can be, ahem, challenging at times. I was looking at the pictures on my camera in an effort to jog my memory as to what we have been doing this month and will attempt to recapture the memories here.
I do know some low points this month included Dean and I battling a 2-week long sinus infection, followed by pink eye for Dean and a random toe injury (he's getting old). Joey has been sick as well with an ear infection, sore throat, and horrendous cough. Dean and I have spent many nights sleeping on Joey's floor the past week. Always a good nights rest.
But in addition to battling illnesses, this month we enjoyed lots of "firsts" as well. Joe-Bug starteed Little Kickers and is loving being a soccer player. I was kind of surprised at his first class how rather uninterested he was. I really thought he would love playing soccer. It quickly became apparent that that was in fact the problem. He loved "playing" soccer. Joe was completely unimpressed by the bubbles, the games, the parachute, and the squishy ball (which was by far Ben's FAVORITE when he played Little Kickers). Joe wanted to "play" soccer. He lit up whenever it was time to kick goals and run sprints but was utterly annoyed by all the nonsense in between. Would someone please remind this kid that he is two?

In other big news, Ben is working on riding his bike without training wheels. He is really working hard and I know he will get it down soon. I think he is a bit frustrated that it is so much more difficult than he anticipated but he is truly commited to mastering the skill and I am very proud of him. I think his biggest obstacle in his riding endeavor is Joe...he always seems to be right in Benny's path.

We have really been enjoying the warmer temperatures the past several weeks and have been spending tons of time outside. We even enjoyed a trip to the zoo where we played with Adam and Taylor and Ben ran into a good friend from school, Kaden and his sister Kalli. The boys both loved the snakes (ewwwwww) and the lemurs.

Speaking of playdates, Joey had his friend Macy over 2 weeks ago for the day and they were so unbelievably cute together. They are good buddies at school and church and Macy's sister, Alex, was in the hospital with pneumonia so we offerred to play with Mae for the day. You could totally tell that Joe and Macy are the 2nd children in their families as they shared so well together and were very kind and generous to one another. I was very impressed!
Joe has found a new obsession...playing in the car. I let him do this one day when I was trying to bring groceries into the house and now he insists on playing in the car whenever we go outside. He goes on some wild adventures when he is behind the wheel!
Last weekend Ben "starred" in the church childrens choir musical "Go Go Jonah!" He did an awesome job performing in both church services and I loved every minute watching him perform. Nana and Mal Mal came to check out his acting/singing skills as well!

Ben also started yet another season of basketball. This time he is playing on the 76ers, coached again by his dad and Uncle Craig. The early scouting report by Ben says that the team is pretty strong and definitely unbeatable.
Benny and I took in a Pacers game last weekend and had a great time, despite the fact that Ben was exhausted and we didn't even make it through the 3rd period.
Ben was spoiled rotten by daddy's coworkers (as always) and collected all kinds of goodies, including his favorite, blue cotton candy!
Ben was HORRIFIED when Dean took us down to visit the Pacemates. He was uncharacteristically shy and wouldn't even talk to Jarin . He clung to my legs and refused to take a picture. Silly Ben.
Yesterday we went to the town easter egg hunt at Leonard Park. Ben was pumped and had a strategy in place to collect the most eggs. He and Dean headed to the 4 & 5 year old area while Joe and I claimed our spot in the 2 & 3 year old area. Joey entertained the crowd (as usual) as he kept trying to sprint out to collect eggs before they rang the bell. I had to chase him down each time and everyone got a big kick out of his enthusiasm. It was pretty cute. When the proper time came he marched purposefully toward the eggs.
He managed to collect 4 eggs and was so proud!
Ben had a successful hunt as well!

Tonight Ben is thrilled to have Kirin over for a sleepover, though it is debatable how much sleeping will actually take place. They are laying in the family room watching a Disney movie and playing board games right now, giggling, and whispering secrets. Best friends are the best!
