I chaperoned Benny's kindergarten field trip last week and he (and all the kids) was soooo excited. We don't have buses in Speedway so the highlight of the day, for Ben, was being able to ride a big yellow bus around town! He and his friends quickly claimed the back seats and there was a lot of giggling, singing, and playing the rest of the day!

Ben and Nathan...back of the bus, baby!

The kids enjoyed visiting the police station, fire station, library, Marsh Supermarket, and finally were so happy to spend some time at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Our first stop was the IMS Museum where the kids all liked the Borg Warner trophy best of all.

We also spent a little time in turn two watching the cars go by. It was "Fast Friday" at the track and an absolutely gorgeous day. The crowds were large but the kids were great listeners and had a wonderful time. I look forward to chaperoning many more trips with these kiddos!

I asked Ben at the end of the day how he thought everything went. He thought great. I guess I was able to strike a balance between being a good chaperone and still a cool mom. Yay! It was fun to watch Ben interact with his peers. He is a good kid and I love him so much.
