I could write an entire book of Joe-isms. Here are a few stories from the past couple weeks:
While walking through Target one afternoon, Joey (completely out of nowhere) says to me "Is there really an Easter Bunny or do you just hide eggs and give us baskets?" Please keep in mind this was in the middle of JUNE. Ben looked up at me expectantly and I took a deep breath and said "Well, what do you think?" Joey kind of shook his head and said "Well, I think he is real." I said "Me too." Joey then said "Do you think he is big or small?" I responded "I don't really know, I have never seen him." And that was enough for Joe. We moved onto another conversation about which M&M color is superior or why Target carts are red, etc. Dodged a bullet there...
Last week we celebrated Ben, Cadalyn and Ainsley's birthdays with the Burris' and sweet Cadalyn thought that was terribly unfair that everyone would receive a gift except Joey so she picked him up a surprise as well. So thoughtful. Well, Miss Cadalyn is not only thoughtful but is also super smart so she proceeded to read Joey his birthday card. We were all very impressed, including Joey who said "I can read too...I just don't know how yet!!!" Love that witty kid :)
