Wacky Weather

I have been C-R-A-B-B-Y this week. For really no good reason at all. Wasn't it just a few short weeks ago that I was writing about all the blessings around me and how much I loved my life? I evidently spoke too soon. Just kidding, my life is still tremendously blessed and I have absolutely no good reason to complain about anything whatsoever, but that has not stopped me from being whiney this week. I need to have something on which to blame my behavior, so I'll go with the weather. Blame it on the rain...not really the rain so much because I love a rainy day (full of song references today, I am), but the bipolar weather that terrorizes the midwest this time of year. In the course of the past week we have had 20 degree temperatures with snow flurries, 60 degrees with sun, and enormous windy nights with torrential downpours. I am all for mixing it up and keeping things interesting but the wacky spring weather that seems to kick in earlier and earlier each year tests my patience.
It was a pretty low key week for the most part (especially compared to all the excitement last week). Sunday was pretty cool as we took Joey to his first Pacers game. Oma, Ben, Joey and I headed to the game and had a great time. It was a little crazy, I will admit, trying to get inside and into our seats (of course with plenty of snacks to bribe the boys with). Once we were seated, however, the boys did great. Ben LOVES going to games so he is always good, but I wasn't sure how Joey would do. I was pleasantly surprised. He flirted and made friends of course, and we managed to last about half of the game before making our escape. I felt a meltdown brewing so I figured we should get out of there before Joey completely lost it.
The rest of the week was quiet. Joey is sick...again. He started coughing on Wednesday, spiked a fever on Thursday, and had a massive snotty nose in addition to the other two symptoms today. We made a trip to the doctor to remove Joey's stitches and they ended up checking his oxygen saturations and they were 90% (supposed to be 100%) so they gave him a breathing treatment and they improved to 95%. He was just diagnosed with a sinus infection and was put on an antibiotic and every 4 hour breathing treatments. Poor little bug. He was pretty miserable all morning and had a fever after his morning nap of 102 degrees. After a breathing treatment and some Tylenol and Pedialyte he rallyed and ran around the house like a wild man before exhausting himself and passing out again. I think that is the hardest part about having a sick toddler...it is impossible to convince them to settle down and take it easy so they can rest and get better. Oh well.
Benny's last basketball game is tomorrow as is my Goddaughter, Amber's, birthday party so we are hoping Joey sleeps well tonight and is miraculously cured tomorrow! Fingers crossed! As for my mood, it remains to be seen. Much like the crazy Indiana weather, you never know what you are going to get :)
