It is a well-known fact that my kids are very funny little creatures. They were both born with a great sense of humor and good comedic timing. I will admit, however, that I enjoy their jokes much more when I am not the punchline.
Today, after school, the boys and I were at the kitchen table having a snack and I was looking through Ben's schoolwork folder. I was so pumped when I saw that his writing center paper featured a picture of he and I! I eagerly read what he wrote below and this is what it said:
I do not like it wene you are on the phoan. i get onoid cos you do not pay atenshen to me mom.
Ouch. "Benjamin!" I exclaimed and Ben giggled and said "Mrs. Carlson thought it was hilarious." I am quite certain she did. She is probably also starting a file to send to CPS since I am such a negligent parent. Fantastic.
As a side note, the whole "phoenetically sounding out words" thing is driving me nuts. His teacher (and every other teacher I ask) assures me that this is the best way to teach Ben how to spell (really???) by letting him sound out words and spell them out phoentically but it is KILLING me to not correct him....but he is awfully clever in his spelling attempts and it is a fun game to decipher what he writes!

Georgia's new year's resolution was to feed Jimi because mom forgets. Yea, awesome. You are a great mom... and Ben knows it.
Love you friend,
From your "mom of the year friend" Suz
