A Beautiful (un)Labor Day

The boys and I celebrated Labor Day last week with a gorgeous trip to Eagle Creek Park. This was, rather surprisingly, our first trip as a family to Eagle Creek but I would bet money it will not be our last.
We started the morning off at the Beach. The boys had so much fun pretending they were fishing. Dean and I were a nervous wreck as it was pretty deep where we were playing and the wind was blowing at a good clip. The boys were so excited that they had a hard time following directions and got a little too close to the water's edge for our liking. Dean actually dropped his cell phone into the water at one point when he was going after Joe. Woops!
After the Beach we headed to a trail. The boys were a bit whiny going into the woods and didn't think a walk sounded like fun but boy did they change their tune when they saw the unbelievably beautiful scenery and realized that all kinds of adventures could be had while hiking. I believe we were pirates looking for treasure. It was awesome.
We then drove around found a couple of fun playgrounds to check out. Dean and Ben played some acorn baseball and I just sat back and watched the loves of my life as they enjoyed the day and the time spent together. It doesn't get much better than that.
