Ben lost his first tooth yesterday (Saturday, September 25, 2010)! It was a very momentous occasion in our house met with joy by Ben, tears by me, and overall excitement by all. I was surprised by how emotional I was when the tooth popped out but it really is just one more "first" that we have crossed off the list of milestones for our firstborn babe. He is growing up at warp speed and I can't slow it down no matter how hard I try.
The tooth had been loose for several weeks and Ben finally came to me yesterday morning and said he had had it "Mom, will you please just pull it out." I tried a couple of times with no luck and finally around noon I gripped the tooth with a napkin, gave a final tug, and out it popped! Ben said it hurt a little and he was surprised (and disgusted) by the blood that accompanied the extraction.
I can't believe how cute he looks with his new toothless smile! Man I love this kid!
