We Campin in an Ahr-Veeeeee

That's right. We went camping this weekend. A first for our family and hopefully our last. Just kidding. There were many, many things I liked about camping. Like the beautiful scenery we encountered while hiking.
I loved watching the boys climb rocks and play by a gorgeous creek we found. That was probably my favorite thing. We found this enormous wooden staircase that led way, way, way down to a rock-bed creek below. Dean had the pleasure of carrying Joey all the way down and nearly all the way back up...twice!
The painful journey down and up, however, was well worth the view and adventures we had down by the creek.
I was actually pretty impressed with our skills, especially when Dean consulted the park map later in the day and discovered that we were on a "rugged" trail! HA! Nothing is too rugged for my little maniacs!
I loved how happy the boys were. Joe kept yelling out at random times "we campin in an ahr-veeeeee!" They loved playing in the top bunk. I really loved roasting hotdogs and marshmellows and the boys were super pumped (as was I) to make and enjoy smores.

I also enjoyed how exhausted the boys were from playing in and around the RV!
After looking at these pictures it's hard for me to remember what I didn't like about camping...it all seemed so fabulous. Oh yeah, I didn't like the dirty part. I am not a nature girl so "roughing it" in the RV is about as wild and crazy as I will get when it comes to camping out. The boys also have a bit too much energy to be confined to an RV so that was challenging this morning when we were trying to convince them that not everyone else at the campground may appreciate being awake at 7:00 a.m.
It really was an enjoyable time, albeit one that I am not overly anxious to repeat anytime soon. I love my boys, but I think I prefer a daytrip to a state park in the future.
